WHEN WAS WARRIORS CHRISTIAN ACADEMY STARTED?
The cufngdiugdfiu for Warriors was originally given by God to Scott Maczuga, the owner and founder of Warriors Christian Academy, in November 2018. Since then, the Warriors corporate team has prayerfully continued to seek God’s will and direction on this project. We were thrilled to open in Fall 2020 at the initial Corp HQ in Leander! Warriors Christian Academy Leander finished its first year with more than 50 children enrolled from K4 – 9th grade. We now have two campuses, one in Cedar Park, one in Georgetown, with nearly 200 Kindergarten through 12th grade students and we started our Mother’s Day Out (ages 3 and 4) program in Fall 2022!

WHAT ARE BENEFITS OF ENROLLING MY CHILD(REN) IN WARRIORS CHRISTIAN ACADEMY?
We have smaller classrooms of 17-20 which allows for more individualized attention and the ability to cater to the individual child’s needs. Sometimes we may exceed that number by a few as we are in the process of splitting a class.
Because we stress both Christian principles and a martial arts culture, our kiddos are immersed in an environment that produces excellence and does not tolerate unhealthy lifestyles. Issues like bullying, drugs, alcohol, and alternative sexual preference or identity, are not tolerated. We focus on a biblical, Godly lifestyle that must be modeled in our Academy at all times.
As such, we have seen 16 kiddos and 2 parent come to Christ over the past year. We are sure this number will continue to grow with enrollment. We are grateful for the work God is doing through Warriors Christian Academy.
WHAT IS THE LONG TERM VISION FOR WARRIORS CHRISTIAN ACADEMY?
The long-term goal is to have campuses offering Pre-K through 12th grade in each Warriors martial arts franchise, nationally and internationally, to have a global impact for Jesus Christ.
To date, our ministry has impacted Leander TX, Cedar Park, TX and Georgetown, TX directly, with a residual impact in the entire greater Austin, TX area.
WHY THE NAME “WARRIORS” AND WHAT’S THE PHILOSOPHY BEHIND CHOOSING IT?
“Warriors” stems from the philosophy that we must be willing and able to fight: not just spiritually, but morally, mentally, and physically for biblical truth, but additionally, for the right as Christians to live and share that truth.
Saint Augustine said “The right thing is the right thing even if no one is doing it. The wrong thing is the wrong thing even if everyone is doing it.” We aim to raise up leaders that know and practice this, and inspire others to do the same!
AS YOU GROW, WILL YOU ADD OTHER ACTIVITIES LIKE BAND, FOOTBALL, JROTC, ETC?
Absolutely. As our academy grows, so will our offerings. It is our vision to start after school sports clubs for both Cedar Park and Georgetown locations in the Spring of 2023, Coach Kyle is actively working on a solution for this now. Options for fine arts are also in the research and development phase.
WHAT DOES PHYSICAL ACTIVITY TIME LOOK LIKE AND HOW ABOUT OUTDOOR ACTIVITY?
It is vitally important that children have plenty of physical activity during their learning day. Not only will they have structured physical disciplines like martial arts, dance, gymnastics, and parkour, but they will have frequent unstructured, but properly supervised, recess times. Studies consistently show that ADD/ADHD trend much lower and oftentimes go away when children have more physical work and play time.
In addition, we take a very European/Nordic view of children in nature. The more students can explore outside, staying in touch with nature, the healthier they become physically and mentally. Regular educational outings are included in our schedule so that our children can have exposure to our beautiful Texas outdoors while gaining an understanding of the natural world they live in.
WHAT DOES THE ENROLLMENT PROCESS LOOK LIKE?
As a private academy, we want to make sure that our values are in alignment with your values. First, families are requested to review and fill out an application, then come in for a tour. After the tour, there will be a short interview process. If we are in agreement that a Warriors Christian Academy education is right for your family, tuition will be discussed and we will start the enrollment paperwork.
If there is a waiting list for a class or grade, preference will first be given to families that already have children at Warriors Christian Academy, then those attending Warriors martial arts evening classes, and finally to brand new families.
WHAT CURRICULUM DOES WARRIORS CHRISTIAN ACADEMY USE AND DO YOU HAVE IN-CLASSROOM TEACHERS?
We currently use the ACE curriculum. It is a comprehensive, rigorous Christian program covering Kinder through 12th grade in every subject. In Georgetown, ACE is used for all grade levels. At our Cedar Park location, ACE is utilized for all subjects Kinder through 8th grade. Our custom developed, classically integrated High School program enables our students to grow in their verbal communication and writing skills as they interact with their curriculum content and each other in each subject. The methodology of implementing rhetoric and the socratic method is not new to education, and Warriors Christian Academy is extremely privileged to have two highly qualified curriculum developers with over 40 years of experience each. In a traditional, teacher-led classroom setting, there may be one teacher for 15-30 students. In order to reach as many students as possible, they must teach to the mid-range students. This means that advanced students often become bored and disconnected, while children who are challenged get left behind and frequently act out in frustration. As many as 24% of students dropout of school in the USA. Having a customized plan that does not hold back or slow down students allows for a THOROUGH education with no large blocks of missing information. In partnership with you, we are able to purposefully assign a custom curriculum to address your child’s specific educational needs, whether they are learning challenged, on par, or an advanced learner.
ACE uses the concept of mastery for promotion to the next level of learning. Each PACE packet requires a test grade of 82% or higher in order to move on to the next packet. This ensures that the child actually learns the subject completely and makes sure there are no holes left in their education as they move from grade level to grade level. Warriors Christian Academy students that are on grade level when joining our school have the potential to be a year to a year and a half advanced beyond their public school peers in their education upon completion of our program.
Our belief is that learning should not be about how many subjects to which a student has exposure, but how well the student masters each subject.
WHO CAN APPLY TO WARRIORS CHRISTIAN ACADEMY?
As long as at least one parent is on-board with the main goal of Warriors Christian Academy, which is to lead the child/student to Christ, an application can be submitted for your student to attend our academy. We do not discriminate on the basis of sex, race, ethnicity, national origin, or sexual orientation.
